The AMALI City Leadership Programme annually provides 20 city leaders from across 11 African countries with exclusive, tailored support to hone their visions for their cities. The programme is a partnership between the African Centre for Cities (ACC) and Big Win Philanthropy. The programme began with an immersive, four-day leadership Forum at the University of Cape Town. Farm Design Events was responsible for four social events during the four days.

Farm Design Events was honoured to design and co-ordinated the gala dinner at the Zeitz MOCCAA. The event was attended by dignitaries from across Africa and opened by the President of the African Development Bank, Dr Akinwumi Adesina.

Amongst the guests was the renowned South African academic, Dr Mamphela Ramphele, AMALI Advisory board member, Chair of Desmond Tutu IP Trust, Former Vice Chancellor of University of Cape Town and Former Managing Director at the World Bank.

In attendance was Raymondo Goudou Coffie, Ivorian Minister Governor of the District des Lacs and formar Minister of Culture and Francophonie.

Each of the tables accented one of AMALI’s corporate colours.

Black cutlery, crystal glassware, linen tablecloths with underlays and embroidered napkins created an elegant table setting.

Burgandy Anthuriums arranged in an Ikebana style decorated one of the tables.

Full-blown orange tulips, arranged in kenzans, beautifully reflected and amplified the lights on the table.

Prof Mamokgethi Phakeng, former Vice-Chancellor of UCT, and Prof Edgar Pieterse, Founding Director of African Centre for Cities, on stage during the event. Table Mountain is visible trough the iconic windows of the Zeitz MOCAA.

The colourful focal arrangement for the back of the stage.

Our very creative client, Alma Viviers, and Kathy share a moment before the arrival of the guests.
