The Cape Wine Auction was held at Graf Delaire Wine Estate on Saturday 15th March 2014. This extraordinary auction, conceptualized by Mike Ractcliff of Warwick Wines, raised R8.9 million for wineland charities. An amazing guest list, the best wines in the country and unbelievable food, made this event a one-of-a-kind.

The delicious food was designed and conceptualized by Margot Janse of Le Quartier Francais. The concept behind the food was all about “the farm”. Farm Design Events worked with Margot to realize her creative vision. The presentation of the food was extraordinary. Crates of amuse bouche hidden amongst the herbs and vine leaves, fresh Salmon sealed in little tins, butter on river pebbles with burnt leek dust, little jars of chicken liver pate with butternut granola, … This was a farm feast like nothing ever experienced before. The tables were designed around the “Ouma se spens” theme. The main course was served on enamel plates and dessert in a feeding trough. Farm Design Events loved being part of this wonderful event.
