Welcome to African Mining Indaba
Brief: To design an event for Ministers from across Africa, industry leaders, and their delegations, on the eve of the annual Mining Indaba.
PAX: 120 VVIPs, up to 50 support staff.
Venue: Westin Hotel, Cape Town.
As far back as 2019 we designed a new concept for Hyve Mining Indaba’s Ministerial Symposium – the VVIP briefing to African mining ministers and industry leaders on the day before the start of the African Mining Indaba. We created an executive space by replicating the corporate boardroom on a large scale for more than a hundred delegates. The boardroom tables were custom designed and illuminated from below to reflect the Hyve corporate green colour. We sourced 120 new executive chairs, and set up 12 tables of 10.
The floral decor was done in shades of green and gold. The client, Hyve, allocated the seating of each guest. Guests were also provided with headphones to use the simultaneous translation services, if needed.
The furniture, decor and lighting turned a ballroom into an executive Hyve space, fit for purpose.

In the foyer of the boardroom we set up a space for use on arrival, during the breaks and after the main meeting. Refreshments of canapes, as well as coffee and tea were available to guests.
